Plain terms for a website that books medical tests: what a booking request actually is, how prices and payment work, what a report can and cannot tell you, and what our accreditation does and does not cover.
1.These terms
This website is operated by Malavia Advanced Laboratory LLP (“Malavia Advanced Laboratory”, “we”, “us”). By using it, browsing our test menu, or sending us a booking or an enquiry, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
They sit alongside our privacy policy, which explains what we do with the information you give us.
2.This site is not medical advice
Nothing on this website is a diagnosis, a prescription, or advice about your own health. The test descriptions, health packages, concern guides and articles on our health blog are general information, written to help you understand what a test measures and what to ask your doctor. They cannot take account of your history, your symptoms or your medication.
Which test is right for you is a decision for a qualified doctor, and so is what your result means. Using this site does not create a doctor and patient relationship between you and us. If you have symptoms that worry you, see a doctor. In an emergency, go to a hospital.
3.Booking a test
A booking made on this site, or over WhatsApp, is a request, not a confirmed appointment. We call or message you back to confirm the test, the price, the slot and any preparation it needs. The booking is fixed only once we have confirmed it with you.
- Give us details that are correct. A wrong phone number means we cannot confirm your slot, and a wrong name or age on a requisition is a problem on a report.
- Booking for someone else. If you book on behalf of another person, you confirm that they are aware of it and content for you to share their details with us. For a child, that means a parent or guardian.
- Preparation matters. Some tests need fasting or a particular time of day. We tell you what yours needs when we confirm. A sample taken without the right preparation can produce a result that is misleading rather than simply wrong.
- Home collection is available across Surat city, subject to slot availability, and is arranged when we confirm your booking.
- Slots can move. Occasionally a collection has to be rescheduled. We tell you as soon as we know.
4.Prices and payment
Prices on our test list and health packages are our own published prices in Indian rupees, and they can change. The price that applies is the one we confirm with you, and we confirm the final amount before any sample is taken. If a listed price and a confirmed price ever disagree, tell us before collection and we will settle it with you.
Payment is by UPI, card or cash at the time of collection or at any of our branches. We take no payment through this website, and we will never ask you for card details over WhatsApp, by email or on a call.
Where a test is being billed to an employer, an insurer or a hospital under an arrangement with us, the terms of that arrangement apply to the billing rather than this clause.
5.Samples and reports
Every report is reviewed by our pathology team before it is released, and reaches you on WhatsApp and by email. A few things follow from how a laboratory works:
- Turnaround times are estimates. Routine tests are usually processed the same day; cultures, molecular PCR and specialised assays take longer, and we tell you the expected time when you book. A repeat run, a confirmatory test or a machine under maintenance can add to it.
- A sample is sometimes unusable. It can clot, haemolyse, arrive short of the volume the assay needs, or be unsuitable for the test requested. When that happens we ask you for a repeat sample, and we would rather do that than report a figure we do not trust.
- A result is a measurement, not a verdict. Reference ranges are population ranges. A value outside one is not automatically a disease, and a value inside one does not rule one out. Take your report to your doctor.
- Reports are released to you. We share a report with a referring doctor where the test was referred, and with anyone else only where you ask us to or where the law requires it.
6.What our accreditation covers
Our laboratory holds NABL accreditation, ISO 15189:2022 in the field of medical testing, certificate NABLM0926GJ10515, for the facility at Adajan, Surat, and an ISO 9001:2015 certificate for its quality management system. Both documents are published in full, as scans, on our about page, along with their numbers and validity dates so that you can check them.
Two things we would rather say plainly than leave you to infer. Accreditation applies to the accredited facility and the scope named on the certificate, not to every test that exists. And we do not hold CAP accreditation, so if you have seen that claimed for us anywhere, it did not come from us.
We are a pathology laboratory. We do not provide radiology, cardiology, treatment or clinical consultation.
7.Using this site
Please use the site for what it is for. Do not:
- send us bookings or enquiries that are not genuine, or submit another person’s details without their knowledge;
- attempt to break into, overload, scrape at volume, or interfere with the site or the systems behind it;
- copy our test list, prices, photographs or written content for republication elsewhere.
The content of this site, including its text, photographs, logo and the compiled test menu and prices, belongs to us or is used with permission. You are welcome to read it, print it for your own use and link to it.
8.Availability and links
We keep this site up and accurate as best we can, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of error. Prices, test details and opening hours can change, and a page can be out of date between one update and the next. When something matters, confirm it with us on 99093 72732.
Some links take you off this site, to WhatsApp or to a map, for example. Those services have their own terms and their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
9.Our responsibility, and its limits
We are responsible for performing the tests you book with the care and competence expected of an accredited diagnostic laboratory, and nothing in these terms limits that. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under the consumer protection law of India.
What we are not responsible for is a decision taken on the strength of general information on this website rather than on a doctor’s advice, a delay or a loss caused by contact details given to us incorrectly, or a failure of a service outside our control such as a network or a messaging platform.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our services change. The current version is always the one on this page, and the date at the top moves only when the wording actually changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Surat, Gujarat have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before it gets that far, talk to us: most things are settled by a phone call.
